Pompeii

What a great place to visit! Give yourself at least 2-4 hours to get a good walk around (wear good walking shoes!). Bring a water bottle (I forgot mine) because there are fountains everywhere to refill! It is a great place to stop at, right off the Circumvesuvius train, at the foot of Mount Vesuvius. They have free luggage check in the park (although kids will hound you at the train stop to pay them to watch it for you). There is plenty to see and do, although not terribly wheelchair or stroller friendly. They have a snack bar there with American food, but I recommend the restaurant/cafe near the train station for lunch. Better prices, authentic food, lemons the size of footballs… My favorite part was all of the stray dogs at the park. They are safe, but the park acts as a shelter for homeless dogs (they feed them and offer water). The dogs are all available for adoption as well! It is a dog-friendly park, so you can take your own dog in as well! Have you ever been to Pompeii?
